So after reminding ourselves last week about that BBC Kraut Rock doc that we'd all seen before but enjoyed the re-watch, here's another couple of docs that, despite widespread distribution, are always worth a re-viewing.....
First up is the BBC's 'Hotel California' [which would have been better if based on the definitive book on the era] that soundtrack/visual/character-wise, is an enjoyable hour on the TV as you can get...
Next up is a film focussing on the other coast, picking up in New York. Dates-wise it's almost straight after the LA story, albeit with a different cast list. 'Maestro' is the story of Larry Levan & the Paradise Garage and is pretty much on the same themes...
Obviously to enjoy this properly you should buy the DVD...[ don't worry on the first doc mind, they all did well enough...]
