THE aA CHRISTMAS REVUE 2018 | THE CASTLE HOTEL

Akoustik Anarkhy returns for what may now be the annual Christmas Revue at The Castle on Saturday 29th December. It's the second year in a row we've done it so that seems like the start of a fine tradition.

What with aA's being rather rare of late, we wanted to mark this occasion with something special so we commissioned the artist Anthony McCarthy to work with us on the poster. His original study of The Castle frontage cements a seminal tie in and the finished poster is glorious. You can see more of Anthony's work over at the Clark Gallery in Hale

Musically speaking we're currently in thrall to the Beatles White Album Esher Demos and outakes but a mention should also be given to George Harrison's 'When Every Song Is Sung'. Talking of which Ringo's cover of said tune, renamed 'I'll still love you' surely laid the foundations for the best Oasis Beatle ballads.

So this years Christmas Revue brings us a lovely debut from Matt Lidis on the decks and livewise a beautiful bill of sounds.

Half A Buffalo. Ben and Nigel from its a buffalo have reunited for the night and promise a hit packed set.

John Autokat lit up The Castle last Christmas with hits and rarities and we can only pray for more Sound Advice this Christmas.

"WEeeeeeeee ALL NEED, A LITTLE BIT OF SOUND ADVICE..."

Noel, Red* and Murph were all present at the seminal opening of Akoustik Anarkhy on Saturday 30th October 1999 and what a joy to have them all back this yuletide. Murph will also be joined for his set by Neil of Carousel Clouds. If Murph and Red* can recreate their seminal rendition of Good Times circa 2000 at some point during the evening all will be happy.

The seminal Akoustik Anarkhy will return in 2019, just twenty, but until then we wish you a Merry Christmas and see you for a bouyant atmosphere at The Castle Hotel, 7pm on Saturday 29th December. £5 admission on the door. Don't miss it.
