WHITE DEVILS DAY IS HERE

Hello, one of our new year resolutions is to get our mailing list organised, we've kept being told how important they are, I guess when you think about it, they are quite useful in telling all of you who ve signed up to it, what we're doing! So here we are. We'll try and do about one a month, when we've a gig, hastily organised secret party, new release, blah blah blah.

Anyway...NEIL BURRELL 'White Devil's Day Is Almost Over' is the third full artist album we're releasing and out in the shops now, it's been picking up some nice reviews, which is er...nice and can be purchased direct from the aA shop for £8 (plus a free Class aA Comp as part of the aA Sale, more on that below) and all good record record retailers. Including in Manchester - Piccadilly, Vinyl Revival, Vox Pop, Zero.

"The album is full of fractured, sea-sawing songs reminiscent of Syd Barrett or The Incredible Sting Band, all coated with Burrell's fragile, keening vocal. There's enough beauty and invention to mark this space cadet out as a genuine talent." Uncut

"Burrell is a curious delight, like the freakish boy Euros Chid's family keep locked in the attic, who has escaped to tell his tale." NME

"The Manchester-based-neo-psych troubadour joins an oddball lineage connecting Syd Barrett with Jim Noir via much lysergic meanderings." The Independent

"Neil Burrell's debut album is the stuff dreams are made of, literally. A magnificently marvellous expolration of all things and wonderful it is a product of Burrell's inspiring imagination and vision." Sandman

You can read more about Neil here in some interviews and pieces - BBC online and a nice feature on Manchester's burgeoning 'folk' artists in the GuardianaA SHOP 2008 SALE! We're offering our other artist albums direct from the shop for the knocked down price of £7 a digi pack cd and £7 on good old twelve inch vinyl. Also if you buy Autokat's 'Late Night Shopping' or The Loungs 'We Are The Champ' and you really should have these in you're record collections, then you'll recieve a FREE copy of our last compilation 'Class aA; Beyond Entertainment' which features exclusive tracks from the likes of The Longcut, Nine Black Alps, the Kat, Harrisons, Sam&Me, Beep Seals, Soft Priest, Loose Canon, Lead Balloons). In fact, why not, if you spend over a fiver in the shop we'll sling a Class aA cd in. All good. Check it out here; http://www.akoustikanarkhy.co.uk/root/001shop.htm
